Show j City Council Lists I Tax Levy Breakdown f Two weeks ago it was an-I an-I naunce(l that the Parowan City I wx levy for 1961 would be 27 ' miHs a cut of 1.75 mills from last year's levy. Under the new legislation passed by the Legislature, Legis-lature, a breakdown into funds Is not required as has been in the past, but is in two divisions as follows: An over-all levy for general city purposes, which was set at 23 milles, and an interest and bond retirement division, with a levy of 4.0 mills. The City council coun-cil did, however, break the all-purpose all-purpose levy down into funds for its own guidance, and they are as follows, according to Verda E. Adams, city recorder. Contingent expenses, 5.0 mills; water supply and waterworks, 2.5 jnills; streets and sidewalks 5.0 mills; parks and public property 1.0 mill; public safety, 5.0 mills; city halls and memorials, 1.25 mills; city audit, 0.5 of a mill; recreation. 0.75 of a mill, and public library, 2.0 mills, for the 23.0 mill total. |
