Although It was a miserable day owing to high wind the YWMIA sold lunches at the church to all who wished to come. They were well pleased with the success of their sale Mr. and Mrs. Preston Williams had as their guest over the week end on May 24 and 25, Juanita Williams find Richard Calvert of Henderson, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Williams also had as a guest little Deborah Scrowther of Salt Lake City Sunday and Monday, whose mother was killed in a car accident on the Black Ridge Sunday, May 27. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Chris- tensen and family are spending their vacation in California. They were accompanied by his mother Rosella Christensen. While there they will visit with their sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Berry. Miss Marie Beckstead, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Beck-stead, Beck-stead, has employment at Zion Park for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Reeves of. Ely, Nev. are spending their vacation va-cation here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Reeves. Boyd Reeves spent the Memorial Day week end here from Ely, also. Visiting relatives and friends Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Wood, Mrs. Erlene Isoin anr'. daughter Cherrie, Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Davis and family of Las Vegas. Mrs. Ferl Zohner and daughter Sharon have gone to Las Vegas where they have employment. Visiting at the Preston Williams Wil-liams home over the week end were Juanita and Park Williams of Henderson, Rhea Wakeling and Le Ree Crosby, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bladen and children of Cedar Ce-dar City. Mr. and Mrs. Rohert Simkins and children of Murray visited here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Parker of Panguitch spent Friday with his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Williams. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Junius Williams were Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey Taylor and boys of Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. LaVerc Carter of Salt Lake City. Many of our people attended the graduation exercises of tiie Cedar City High School. Those who graduated were Val Davis, Russell Williams, Bud Williams, Jimmie Wattell. Lauralie Williams Wil-liams and Sharon Zohner. Several Sever-al attended the college and Institute In-stitute graduation at Cedar City also. Those graduating from here were Mr. and Mrs. j. V. Davis Dwight Williams, Iona Livermore and Roger Bryan. Congratulations Congratula-tions to all you graduates. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Williams of Henderson spent the week end holiday here with his mother, Amanda Williams, and his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alpine Averett of Cedar City. Ci-ty. Horace Roundy and daughter Iona of Salt Lake City were here on Memorial Day with his daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Ence. I Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Haskell ind children of Payson spent their Memorial Day vacation here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. WI1-lard WI1-lard Batty. They were accompanied accom-panied back by her sisters Carolyn Caro-lyn and Elaine, who will visit for a while. Visitors here for a fc-.v days In observance of Memorial Day at the home of Sam L. Pollock were some of his children and grandchildren. Mrs. Dora Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Al Hartley and children of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Pollock Pol-lock and family of Tooele. All returned home Sunday but Mrs. Pollock and children who will remain here for a couple of weeks. Stephen, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Laron Christensen, underwent under-went surgery at the Iron County Hospital last week. Lauralie Williams has employ-1 ment at Grand Canyon for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Piatt and daughter of Riverton, Utah were week end visitors at the home of his mother, Mina Piatt. The Daughters of the Pioneers were organized last Friday at the home of Lillian Williams. Mina Tlatt gave the history of Kanar- ra. The officers are as follows; Captain. Lillian Williams; First Vice Captain Ethna Ford; Secretary, Secre-tary, Bessie Davis; Historian, Ah-lenna Ah-lenna Williams; Chaplain, Ma4 Robinson; Organists, Nedra Enc and Lucile Gubler. The name f the camp is 'The Guanar Mission," Mis-sion," after the Indian chief whj was here when they settled Km-narra. Km-narra. Roana Ence is visiting in Prow for a few weeks with Mr. an4 Mrs. Rao Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Pollock an4 children of Fredonia, Ariz., speat a few days here with relatives they were accompanied on their return home by his mother, Hct-tle Hct-tle Pollock. Gary made a business busi-ness trip to Salt Lake City and was accompanied by his nephew B. N. Williams. Visitors at the home of Mabl I Williams for a few days were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bryan Las Vegas and Mr. and Mrs. Allison Al-lison Williams and family of Inkom, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bry-an came to attend the graduation gradua-tion of their son, Robert, and their sister, Iona Livermore from C S U. Kent and Vergene Davis are here from Wyoming. They took their families back with them on their return. The YWMIA was reorganized reorganiz-ed with Berta Williams as nmel- dent and Alva Baty and Carina Williams as counselors, GayneU Williams, secretary. Outgoing officers of-ficers were Verona Esplin, Lucille Lu-cille Gubler and Iierta Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pollock were visitors at Grand Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Williams , and daughters Janice and Vk-ky and Don Robinson were visitors , in Salt Lake City recently. |
