Show Anglers Will Swarm To Favorite Spots Saturday Morn Pangultch Lake will carry the brunt of the opening week end of fishing season In the southern Utah area with the Enterprise Rewrvoirs, Newcastle Reservoir, Paragonah Reservoir, Mammoth Creek and Duck Creek, expected to take the overload. Thousands of anglers will be out Saturday morning at the break of dawn testing their luck In these most popular waters of southern Utah as the 19!S angling season gets under way. Tanguitch Lake, the most popular pop-ular retreat in the southern part of the state, If not the entire state, will be swarming with fishermen Saturday morning and a good sh u of the anglers will be moving into the area Friday evening. Navajo Lake will not be ready for the opening and therefore will force anglers to the other waters. The reservoirs of the lower elevations ele-vations are expected to be popular popu-lar on the opening and with the opening of the Enterprise Reservoirs Reser-voirs after chemical treatment In 1956 and non -fishing regulations regula-tions in 1957, will probably draw large groups as will the Newcastle New-castle Reservoir. Not a great deal has been said about the new reservoir, Kolob Reservoir, which has filled this spring, but a number of fishermen fish-ermen have this spot In mind for the opening and it too could be mighty crowded for the first week end and should be a good spot for most of the season. Two Important changes in the fish and game laws for this season sea-son have been pointed out by the Fish and Game personnel. The starting time for fishing has been extended one hour with fishing this season from 4 a. m. to 9 p. m. This opening hour is one hour earlier than during 1957. Second Important change Is a no minimum size limit for any fish caught this year under a new regulation from the Fish and Game Commission. Most lower elevation streams throughout the state have been stocked by the fish and game in preparation for tru opening which draws thousands of fishermen fish-ermen each year. |
