Show Third Ward M. I. A. Opens With Social A large enthusiastic crowd attended at-tended the opening social of the Third ward MIA Monday evening, officers reported. A program was held in the forepart fore-part of the evening in the chapel and consisted of readings, stunts and tributes to the outgoing officers. of-ficers. Later the crowd assembled in the amusement hall, where dancing, danc-ing, a floor show and light refreshments refresh-ments were enjoyed. It was also initiation night for the ward's new record player and records. Arrangements for the recreational recrea-tional phase of the social was under un-der direction of Miss Edna Nielson. Assisting with the opening were the new officers, Mrs. Marie Whiting, Whit-ing, president; Mrs. Ina Christensen Christen-sen and Mrs. Audrey Ford, counselors; coun-selors; Mrs. Josephine Whiting, secretary. Directing affairs of the YM-MIA YM-MIA are Lawrence Lynn, superintendent; superin-tendent; Bert Groesbeck and Lamar La-mar Weight, assistants and Kenneth Ken-neth Metcalf, secretary. |
