Show Coach George Pehrson has been fervently drilling drill-ing his Springville Red Devils in gridiron fundamentals fundamen-tals during the week in preparation for their next football fame Fridav afternoon at Fillmore. After a "greenling" showing at Tooele, in which fumbles cost them a 27-0 embarrasing debut for the 1949 season, the team got down to some good stiff drills, picking up valuable bits of worthwhile experience gained from their opener. Monday and Tuesday nights were devoted to fundamental blocking and tackling with plays also being stressed and Wednesday night further emphasized these with scrimmage sessions. Several of the greenlings are coming along nicely and baring any injuries in the squad, Friday should see an improved ball team playing at Fillmore. Tooele Resume . . . Although losing their game to Tooele, the Red Devils gained much and, considering their short time out for the sport, looked good in spots. They held the home town Buffs to a scoreless tie during the first quarter. In the second, the Tooele team put on a 45 yard drive after getting a 24 yard run, to score. The other three touchdowns were gained on Springville errors and fumbles. A blocked punt led to the second counter in the second quarter and two fumbles in the third gave the Buffs a 27-0 lead. Springville held them scoreless during the final quarter. Lineup . . . Tooele Ends Matekel,. Renneau, Da-vies, Da-vies, Huntington. Tackles Eichorn, Marian, Smart, Gillete, Katrales, Gamble.
