Show Weed Control In County Explained The educational program on weed control was explained to members of the Duchesne County Coun-ty Noxious Weed Control Committee Com-mittee by Louis A. Jensen, Duchesne Du-chesne County Agricultural Agent, Ag-ent, at the annual meeting of the weed committee. He stated that three weed schools were held last spring at Duchesne, Roosevelt and Mt. Emmons. At these special training train-ing schools, farmers and ranchers ranch-ers were taught to recognize the different noxious weed seeds. Noxious weed seeds were mixed in an envelope containing wheat and other crop seeds, then tho student was schooled in identifying identi-fying the weed seeds. During the summer months, two weed tours were conducted in the county, also, the county agent said. Persons interested in the control of the noxious weeds participated in these tours to obtain first-hand information as to the results of the control work in general, as well as the special accomplishments made at the county weed experiment farm with experimental weed control practices. The county agent reports a record participation in both the schools and the tours. |
