Show Fourth Son To Enter Service Dean Betts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Betts, reported at Salt Lake City Dec. 5 for his examjnation for military service. ser-vice. He will be the Betts' fourth son to enter service. They expect their oldest son, Ray, to return from Korea before long. Mrs. Elbert Smith, of White-rocks, White-rocks, and Mrs. Bonnie Bates, of Long Beach, Calif., visited Saturday with Mrs. Wilbur Par-rish. Par-rish. Mrs. Bates' husband, who is in service, has been sent overseas over-seas and she will remain with her parents during her absence. Mrs. R. W. Rust, Mrs. Evan Bennion, Mrs. Cloyd Powell, and Mrs. Farrell Mohlman, of Mt. Emmons were in Ballard Thursday. Also a visitor was Mrs. DeLos Trim, of San Diego, Di-ego, who is spending the winter in the Basin. The Relief Society will hold its annual Christmas party Tuesday, Tues-day, Dec. 11. All ladies are asked to meet at 10 o'clock aud bring something for a pot-luck 1 lunch. Christmas candy will be made during the day. Mrs. Ida Phillips, principal at I the Alterra School, spent three days in Salt Lake City recently at a convention. Karl Bracken, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Pool, of Salt Lake City, and Lynn Bracken, a student stu-dent at the B Y U, Provo, visited vis-ited for a short time Thursday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken. They came out to attend funeral services for little Stephen Kettle. Mrs. Davis Morrill, Blaine Morrill and Mrs. Glen Huber, of Tridell, visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Simper. Wilbur Parrish spent several days in Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Parrish and two sons visited in Whiterocks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Smith. Perry Butcher returned recently re-cently from the Veteran's Hospital Hos-pital in Salt Lake City, where he had been under treatment. Mrs. Thelma Ross, Mrs. Hazel Ha-zel Ross, Mrs. Venita Heed, Mrs. Telintha Rasmussen and Mrs. lone Tippets visited Miss Richards' Rich-ards' room at ther Alterra School Friday afternoon. James E. Bacon of the High Council of the Roosevelt Stake, visited the Ballard Ward on Sunday. Word has been received that Glen Broderick, of Salt Lake City, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Rasmussen, had been quite seriously injured while working. |
