Show eo!a Couple Will Celebrate Their Golden Viedding Anniversary Bee. 10 NEOLA Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Brown, of Neola, will celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary anniver-sary Monday, December 10, when open house will be held in their honor from 1:30 to 3:00 p. m. in Neola. From 4 to 6 p. m. the Browns will be at Monarch, where an open house event will compliment compli-ment them at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brown. Continuing the all-day celebration cele-bration will be a family dinner at the Victor Brown home, following fol-lowing the 6 o'clock open house. Clarence A. Brown was born October 16, 1879, in Cherokee, Kansas, a- son of Louis H. and Nancy I. Ellis Brown, who emigrated em-igrated to Poncha Springs, Colorado Colo-rado in 1880, where their son received his schooling and was reared on a farm. Nellie W. Sampson Brown was born May 7, 1880, in Silver Plume, Colorado, a daughter of John B. and Elizabeth J. San-dow San-dow Sampson. They moved to Poncha Springs, Colorado, in 1884. Clarence Brown and Nellie Sampson were married December Decem-ber 10, 1901, in Denver, Colorado. Colo-rado. Disposing of their interests at Poncha Springs in 1912, tney made their home in Monarch, Duchesne County, in 1913, where they purchased farm property pro-perty and established the Monarch Mon-arch Post Office in 1914, which they operated for 17 years, when a rural route took over. Mr. Brown was very activ.i in civic affairs, being a member of the water board for many years. He also was employed as county road supervisor and W P A foreman. Prior to moving mov-ing to Neola. Mr. Brown served as a forest ranger in Colorado. They are the parents of one daughter, Mildred Brown Miller, who died two years ago, and four sons, Arthur, Ray, Victor and Douglas, who all reside at Monarch. The family requests no gifts at the celebration. |
