Show Municipal Parties Inactive As Election Looms With a municipal election coming com-ing up on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and with the deadline for holding nominating primaries on Thursday, Thurs-day, Oct. 22, very little interest has been shown among the members of either political parly in Parowan up to the present time. The nominating conventions have to be held at least 15 days before ejection day, and not more than 30 days before that day. Therefore sometime between now and Oct. 22 the two political party par-ty officers in this city will have to call meetings at which tickets will be nominated for the coming election. The terms of three members' of the Parowan City Council expire ex-pire this year, and they wUl either ei-ther have to come up for re-election on the Republican ticket or be replaced by other party members mem-bers on the ticket. The Demo crats will also have to name a ticket, and so far as we can ascertain as-certain no one has been mentioned men-tioned for a place on the ballot. Councilman E. Ray Lyman, D. Robinson and Heber Gurr are the ones whose terms expire this year, with the new council members mem-bers to be named for four year terms. In the meantime, any citizen of Parowan, who is not registered so he can vote Is reminded that there are two registration days coming up before the election on; which they can register and bej eligible to vote. These days are Tuesday, Oct. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 1. Anyone who did not vote in the Jast general election, any person who has turned 21 since the last election will have to register reg-ister before they can vote. Registry agents for the three voting districts In Parowan are as follows: No. 1, Ivy Ward; No. 2, Lillian Heap; No. 3, Cecil Adams. Their offices are at their homes and registration can be done on either of the above mentioned men-tioned days between the hours of j 8 a. m. and 9 p. m. |
