Show Restrictions Eased on A C P Cost-Sharing Farmers In Iron County who are considering soil and water conservation practices this fall and winter who need assistance through the Agricultural Conservation Con-servation Program may find themselves in a bettor position to get Federal cost-sharing than for many years, J. Leonard Top-ham, Top-ham, chairman of the Iron County Coun-ty Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee, said today. In 1951 a law was' passed that ACP cost-sharing could not be offered to any farmer who did not comply with all of the acreage ac-reage allotments on his farm. However, effective with the 1955 crop year there are no allotment allot-ment restrictions tied to ACP. Iron County farmers who over-planted over-planted their wheat acreage allotments al-lotments are no longer prohibited from participating in the program. pro-gram. Funds are still available for Federal cost-sharing on practices prac-tices which may be carried out this fall, Mr. Topham said. A written request for assistance assist-ance under the program must be filed with the county office prior to the time work commences on any practice. The ACP shares with farmers the ost of many conservation practices that are considered in the interest of tin-Nation tin-Nation as a whole. The ACP Is one of the programs handled locally by the Iron County ASC County committee, com-mittee, .located at 170 North Main in Cedar City. Other members of the committee are Lorenzo F.
