Show RfUfF SOCIETY CONffRfNCE QUARTERLY MEETING OF SALT LAKE STAKE Short Talks By Several of the Leaders Lead-ers Women Urged to Observe the Law of Tithing A meeting of the Womens Relief society so-ciety of Salt Lake stake was held yesterday yes-terday afternoon in the Assembly hall Mrs President Home acted as chair I man The session was opened with I singing and prayer Roll call followed and the minutes of the last conference were read and approved On account of the bad weather there were a number num-ber of representatives from the country coun-try who were unable to attend Presidents Presi-dents of several branches reported the work over which they presided to be in a flourishing condition Mrs Home talked to the assembly at some length on the various duties of Latterday Saints She made a point of the tithing matter and urged It upon the women that they do their full duty in this respect The short morning session closed with I singing and an adjournment was taken until 2 oclock When the session convened in the afternoon Mrs Ellas Webb led the prayer A hymn was sung by a trio consisting of Mrs Thomas Mrs Hull and Mrs Winder Mrs ZIna D H Young Mrs Bath sheba W Smith and Mrs Pixton gave brief talks on doctrinal subjects The trio again gave several musical numbers which were much enjoyed by the audience Mrs Sarah Jane Cannon Mrs Clar issa Cannon Mrs Mary Ann Hyde and 4 Mrs Mary A Freeze talked briefly on the work of the society and of its needs All branches of relief work were reported In a very nourishing condition con-dition Mrs Home made a few remarks In adjourning the meeting and the trio sang Beautiful City After the doxology dox-ology and a prayer the conference was adjourned for three months |
