Show 6. 5 1 TO HAUL UTAH CDPPEH OUT Denver & Rio Grande Contract Con-tract Taken Over by Bingham Line. Special to The Tribune. I BINGHAM, Sept. 30. Announcement was made here today that the Bingham & Garfield Railroad company had taken over from the Denver & Rio Grande the ore-hauling contract which the latter road has had with the Utah Copper company for a long period. Coincident with this announcement, it ; was stated that the Denver & Riu Grande 1 forces would be reduced thirty men a.t j Bingham and seventy at Welby. ' The Denver & Rio Grande branch line, j which has had the ore-hauling contract, runs from Welby to Bingham, and from Welbv to Garfield. It has been operating I what'is known as the "high line." i General Manager R. C. Gemrnel of the Utah Copper company, when asked last I night concerning the matter, said that ! the arrangement was only temporary and had been made for the reason that the Denver & Rio Grande needs so many ; cars for the hauling of beets that cars ! could not be spared for ore hauling.
