Show BRIGHT OUTLOOK FOR TOPLIFF QUARRIES Special to The Tribune. LEHI, Sept. 30. Topliff, the home of h 1- the American and United States lime-r lime-r 't stone quarries, may develop into a source of supply for most of the sugar factories of Utah. , ' James H. Gardner and William "Wing-, officials of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company, com-pany, went to Topliff yesterday to locate a vag"on road from their new quarry to . the Topliff spur a mile distant. Some 600 tons will be shipped and tested in several sugar mills, and if it is found satisfactory satisfac-tory the spur will be extended and the quarry opened upon a big scale. The Topliff rock assays less than 1 per cent Insoluble maLter and 98 per cent lime. "It is black in color and close grained, which possibly may make it v.n-desirable v.n-desirable for sugar making purposes. During the past year most of the lime-rock lime-rock for Utah sugar factories has come from the Santaquin quarry, but some trouble has been experienced because of ' bad ledges being mixed with the guod. |
