Show PIONEER 1011 DIES PRO! Mrs. Caroline Merchant Wilson Passes Away at Age of 78. Special to The Tribune. PAYSO.V, Sept. 30. Mrs. Caroline Merchant Wilson, 78 years of afe, wife of Thomas H. Wilson, Sr., died in this city yceterday afternoon. Mrs. Wilson had been a resilient of l'aynon for sixty-two years. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of Richard Rich-ard Merchant and Elizabeth Barnes Merchant Mer-chant and was born in Auptralia. In 1854 she joined the I,. 1). S. church, and on May 2'J, 1455, sailed, with her mother and five other children, with K!dor August Au-gust uh Karn ban's company on tho Julia Ann from .Sydney, Australia. The party landed at San 1'edro, Cal., August 15 of the game year. For a time the family resided at Ran Rerna rdlno, Cal., later coming1 to Utah. In 157 thfy removed to this city. In addition to her husband, to whom abe wiih married in 1850, Mrs. Wilson is survived by the following sons and daughters: Thomas It. Wilson, Jr., John Wilson, William Wilson, Georg-o Wilson, Itobrt Wilson, Alfred It. Wilson, all of Pavson; Mrs. David Stangcr of Ogden, Mrs. J. W. Laurent of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. O. Jj. Spiegel of Salt Lake. Mrs. Wilson also is survived by two Bistort), Mrs. Susan I. Parish and Mrs. Mary Johnson, both of San Bernardino, Cal. ; two brothers. John Merchant of Braver and William Merchant of Australia; Aus-tralia; and also forty-seven grandchildren grandchil-dren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. |
