Show RED GROSS BOARD ' J HEUfiUENIS Executive Session Animated by Interesting Recital of Operations. The regular monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Salt Lak county chapter of the Rod Cross was held yesterday. In the absence of E. O. Howard, How-ard, B. F. Redman presided. A vote of thanks was extended ex-tended to Mrs. George M. Miller, manager of the Red Cross store, and to her assistants assist-ants for their services. A report of the canteen service for the month of February -shows a total of 2(504 men served at depot ca rfteens. Special trains bringing 1514 men, many being sick, were met. A total of $'.'17.99 was expended ex-pended for supplies for the maintenance of this Red Cross canteen work. The month of February was the busiest month in the history of the local canteen. The executive committee, after receiving receiv-ing these reports, took steps toward the intensive conduct, of an overseas old clothes campaign. They particular de sired the public to know that the honor of the Red Cross will be staked on the assurance that no article donated to this cause is to go to the central powers. The Red Cross will manage the distribution of the clothing. These articles will go to the needy of France, Belgium, Serbia, Monte- , negro, Rumania and to portions of the 1 opulation of Greece and Italy. , i |
