Show jlf Life Begins at 40. ..IMust have Missed the Starting Gate won't come to an end if the grandkids eat big sticky suckers and play in the mud with bare feet. !by Mary Gae Evans I've just been sitting here reading a recent survey called "When you hit your prime," and I just can't help but disagree on some points. For example, this survey says "you are in your prime as far as being smartest and able to learn in your teens and twenties." Now that is a big fat waste, when you are that age all, you care about knowing is where the mirrors, makeup, and men are. You are less able to cope with math as you grow older according to the , survey. "I knew that". When ; Marvin Graff taught me in ' fifth grade I was too old. Have you noticed how those times tables and fractions have a tendency to all fade together as you get older? In may opinion, is that the peak of learning hits about four or five. Have you ever seen anyone that can pick up as much information as a four year old when you are talking about something you don't want them to hear? You can twist it around and spell part of it and whisper, and they won't miss one word. In fact this high peak of learning starts in the cradle. By the time a child is two he or she is usually intelligent in-telligent enough to have the whole family at his or her command. This same survey also says "you are most creative between the ages of 30 and 39, 1 missed that whole thing. Life between the ages of 30 and 39 ( my age now ), was just a blur of babies, diapers, Little League Ball games and teenage drivers. There is absolutely no time to be creative durjng those years. That phase should hit about 60 when things slow down a bit. from 30 to 45. I guess they are probably right about that one, that's why grandmas grand-mas know that the world Women are healthiest, the survey says, between the ages of fifteen and thirty. That's just not true. It's just that they don't have time to be sick during those years. From 15 to about 19 they are too busy having fun, then they can't get sick because they have to nurse the rest of the family. Men are at their peak healthwise between the ages of 15 and 25. We have 5 more healthy years than they do. I don't believe that either, I think they just start to complain sooner. Have you ever seen anything more pitful than a man with a cold? Broken bones they can take but a cold you would think they were at death's door. The survey also says the best years in life are from 30 to 45, I'm sorry, but I disagree again, as I recall the years between 10 and 17 were fabulous. No responsibilities, respon-sibilities, one little tear running down your cheek could get you a new dress from dad. There were lots of friends with lots of ideas for fun, and only one little bedroom to keep clean, Mom took care of the rest of the house. The survey also says that people get nicer and more mellow after age 40, and probably the best years are |
