Show Leslie Howard and Norma Shearers as Romeo and Juliet ' Festival to Show Romeo and Juliet Movie ROMEO AND JULIET in the 1936 movie version will be shown at 2 p.m. each Monday afternoon during the production season. This will be the second season a movie has been shown as a daytime Festival feature, and the choice of Monday ensures Festival visitors of an afternoon activity each day of the week. This version of Shakespeare's romantic I I tragedy stars Norma Shearer, Leslie Howard, John Barrymore and Basil Rathbone. The splendid settings, costumes and photography of the black and white version decorate Shakespeare's classic story of youthful compassion and adult rivalry between two rich and powerful power-ful families. Faithful to the letter and spirit of the original, Leslie Howard as Romeo and Norma Shearer as Juliet compliment John Barrymore's Mercutio in a poignant rendition of the timeless romance. The movie will be shown in the SUSC Auditorium, and ticket price is $1.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Box Office Of-fice on the day of the performance. ( |
