Show Lake Powell Bass Fishing Contest Entries are now being accepted by Western Bass ' for the biggest bass tournament tour-nament of the year, the 3rd annual Lake Powell-Wahweap Powell-Wahweap Fall Classic, slated for Nov. 1-3. This is the largest event on the tournament circuit, featuring a $250 entry fee with a guaranteed $25,000 minimum purse. Anglers entering the tournament should be making reservations now for motel and campground accomodations at Wahweap Lodge, but lodge officials will not accept those reservations unless the angler has a confirmed tournament entry deposit recorded at Western Bass offices. Western Bass will supply the ' entrant's list to Del Webb Properties, owners of the Wahweap facility, thus insuring that the accomodations ac-comodations will be available for tournament anglers. Anglers who have entered the event can make their reservations by using the toll-free number at Wahweap Wah-weap (800) 528-6154; call Monday thru Friday ,8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ask for Candy Jones. The three-day fishing contest will be preceded by three days of practice fishing, from Oct. 29-31, but the lake will be off-limits to all tournament anglers from Oct. 1 thru Oct. 28. Defending Powell champion is Fred Ward of Phoenix, Ariz., who compiled com-piled a 51 lb. 6 oz. total last year to win $4,000 in the field of 151 anglers. In 1077. Dee Thomas of Fremont.
