Show Equipment Purchased thru Donations not necessary, since the child cannot turn, twist, or otherwise move and ruin the x-ray picture. The immobilizer, which is the only one in southern Utah, minimizes the raidation dosage a child receives by eliminating the need to take repeat pictures. At the same time, it eliminates the exposure to radiation that parents or technologists might get if manually positioning a child for x-rays. The Valley View Health Care Foundation has combined the donations of SnowFever at Brian Head and Evans Haristyling College and purchased an x-ray x-ray infant immobilizer for VVMC's x-ray patients. The immobilizer looks like an oversized, fancy baby walker, and is designed to gently but firmly hold a child in an immovable position while x-rays are taken. Thus, x-rays of the chest and abdomen can be taken in the best positions, with repeats |
