Show New Housing Ordinance Contractors and residents with dwelling under construction con-struction were reminded this week of the Cedar City Ordinance that require the completion of curb and gutter and sidewalks before a dwelling can be occupied. The reminder was issued from the Cedar Cikty Building Inspector to make everyone aware of the building codes. Section 35-25-13 of the Cedar City Ordinances states that "in a construction con-struction in which curb and sidewalks may be left to the last items to be built. However, no certificate of occupancy shall be issued until after said curb and sidewalks are completed." The building inspector indicated that allowances will be made for winter months. It was emphasized however, that without the allowance, no utility services ser-vices will be received (power or water) until a certificate of occupancy has been issued. Questions regarding this requirement, or other building codes can be answered an-swered by calling the city offices at 586-6513. |
