Show Parowan Little League end Season PAPOWAN-Little League Baseball games last week wound up the season for the Parowan teams, an all star team has now been chosen and will play in the Cedar City Tournament the week of the 26th of July. Games will be on Wed., Thurs., Fri., and Sat. Closing league games were as follows: Tues. July 3, Jones Piano won a squeaker over Parowan Lumber six to five. The winning pitcher was Blake Bentley losing was Scott Stubbs. Hitting for the P.L. were Sharrisa Thornton with two singles, Scott Stubbs a single, Kristen Allen a double, StevenAdams a single and Bryan Adams a single. Hitting for J. P. were Tony Orton three singles, Mark Robinson a double, Eric Stubbs a single, Blake Bentley a single and a home run. On Wed. July 4 the Pit Stop defeated Boyers 16 to 10. Winning pitcher was Ranee Bess, losing Robert Hughes. Pit Stop hitters were Ranee Bess two singles, Sean Lamoreaux a single and a double, Shaylyn Nelson a single, Ty Borden a triple, Trisha Bentley a single, Tawna Heaps a double. Hitting for Boyers were Darren Hyatt a double, John Hanks two singles and a double. On Thursday July 5, Bank of Iron Co. defeated Fads 8 to 3. The winning pitcher was Scott Farrow, losing was Mike Rogerson. BOIC hitters were David Green a single, double and triple, Scott Farrow a single. Alisa Jo Robb a double. Mike Rogerson hit a single for Fads. On Friday July 6, J. P. won over P L. 6 to 0. Tony Orton was the winning pitcher, losing was Dan Robinson. P.L. hitters were Sharissa Thornton a single, Scott Stubbs two singles, Sherry Bryant a single. Matt Robinson a single. Hitting for J.P. were Mark Robinson a single, Tony Orton a single and a home run. Jason Green two singles, Blake Bentley two doubles. Shane Jones a double and Bill Steward a double. The little league organization wishes to thank all the umpires, score keepers and mothers who helped with fund raising. The 1979 all star team is as follows: Bank of Iron Co. players named are Shawn Robb, David and Damon Green, Matt Austin, Scott Farrow and Alan Hanks. Final standings for the ' teams in league play were: First, BOIC, 15 and 0 Second, Jones, 12 and 4 Third, Pit Stop, 7 and 7 Fads, 7 and 8 P. Lumber, 4 and 112 Boyer Mortuary, 0 and 14 League elections were held last week to choose officers for the 1979-80 season with the following results: Rich Williamson president, John Hammond vice president, Ralph Robinson player agent, Robbie Topham umpire in chief, Cop Johnson equipment equip-ment manager, Paul Robiason finance director, Maritta Rogerson president of womens auxiliary, and Renee Savage head scorekeeper. |
