Show j : ; . ; - ' i ; r j, Pacheco Bids For Post on "Y" Team Manuel Pacheco, Spanish American Am-erican sophomore halfback from Fruita, Colorado, promises to be j a bulwark of the Brigham Young ! university's 1939 grid attack, as he smashes his way to a regular spot on the Cougar varsity. Formerly from Fruita high school, he is still remembered by Coioradoans as a great high school athlete. His athletic record rec-ord consists of four years as a regular in football, basketball, and track. He has the distinction , of captaining a team of each sport while there. Last fall he earned his block "Y" sweater. He was often re ferred to by Coach Eddie Kim-htill Kim-htill as the possessor of more natural football ability than any other player on the Cougar squad. Known by his team-mates and coaches as the "Ghost," Pacheco lives up to his name by being the hardest ball carrier to bring down on the B. Y. U. squad. He is also one of the shiftiest, fastest, hardest running. Punting consistently con-sistently and passing accurately, he threatens to become a major problem for the Cougar foes next fall. |
