Show RITES FOR ROY MCKENZIE HELD TUES. Well attended funeral services were conducted in the Third ward chapel under direction of Bishop William Witney, Tuesday afternoon, for Roy McKenzies, well known resident of this city who died unexpectedly Saturday, the family residence. Speakers at the services were Peter Nielson, former bishop of the Third ward, Bert Smoot of Salt Lake City and Bishop Witney. Wit-ney. Two vocal ducts were rendered by Mrs. Marjorie Bird and Mrs. Evelyn Boyer. Miss Virginia Bird gave a vocal solo. At the grave side in the Evergreen cemetery, ceme-tery, an Instrumental duct was giveii by Ralph Weight and Will Parry. Tile invocation was offered by M. W. Bird and the benediction by M. A. Boyer. John Boyer dedicated dedi-cated the grave. Mr. McKenzie was born in Springville, July 2, 1873, a son of George L. and Elizabeth Wood McKenzie. He had made his home here most of ffis life. Hie married Clara Gammcll October " 14, 1914, at Provo. He was known here for his musical ability and had appeared in numerous entertainments in recent re-cent years. He was employed at the Columbia Steel plant for 14 years prior to his illness. During his early life, he engaged in construction con-struction work. Surviving besides . his widow, are a son and a daughter, Ber-ncll Ber-ncll and Odessa McKenzie of Springville; a grandchild and two brothers and a sister, William and Owen McKenzie, and Mrs. Nellie Straw of Springville. |
