Show NEW BUSES START SERVICE Z5 IHESKL-POWEKKD BUSES START SERVICE IN JUNE Burlington's New Streamlined, Air-Conditioned Buses Hailed as Last Word in Modern "Comfort Engineering." Di'esel-powered, streamlined and including latest scientific achieve- I ments in "comfort engineering," a new fleet of-twenty-five transcoiir-tinental transcoiir-tinental buses are rapklly nearing completion and will start serving the public on the nation' colorful highways early in June, according to announcement today of W. E. Fuller, vice-president of the Bur-L'Merton Bur-L'Merton Transportation Company. . The new fleet of air-conditioned buses, to be operated by , the Burlington Bur-lington Trailways bus system, follow fol-low the pioneering "Diesel power" example of their parent organization organiza-tion wi'th Burlington Zephyrs of ' railroad fame and will he' the' first Uiesel-powcred buses to bc used in transcontinental service. . While assuring the fastest and safest coast-to-coast bus schedule, this radically new type of cruiser ushers in air-conditioning .which, it is said, will perfectly combat the naturally varying temperatures encountered, and numerous other brand new comforts and conveniences conven-iences which actually bring economical econ-omical bus travel into a new era of luxuriousness. The new cruisers, built at. a cost or $500,000 are designed in size to accommodate 37 passenger? hut there are seats for only 28 i';i order to supply more leg room and reclining comfort. Scats are of sponge rubber and are adjustable adjust-able to five positions, one more than in ordinary buses, so that in the fifth position there is opportunity oppor-tunity in a natural way to sleep.
