Show i BEAVER COUNTY TO CLEAN UP FOR CENTENNIAL Beaver county citizens, representing repre-senting all of the Beaver City and many of the Minersvile and Mil- ; ford civic bodies, met in the court i house Wednesday evening to discuss dis-cuss measures for making Beaver county a Southern Utah tourist mecca. Present to assist the gathering gath-ering was Mr. Winders of the State Centennial commission. . Introduced by School Superintendent Superin-tendent Wittwer, Mr. Winders addressed ad-dressed the group, stressing neei. for courtesy, service, and abso lute accuracy of information as three of the most important requisites requi-sites assuring favorable opinion of travelers. The tourist business, he pointed cut, is the greatest business in America today, grossing six billion dollars in 1941, with Utah receiving receiv-ing a nere l-171st of that amount. The average tourist spends but two days in Utah, and with more cordial wecome, more accurate Information In-formation and greater effort on our part, the traveler, could be induced in-duced to spend several days ir Southern Utah, Mr. Winder said.
