Show 0CrIURCH NEWS On Sunday evening, December 9, the Milford ward Sunday school will present a program emphasizing, emphasiz-ing, the organization of the Sunday Sun-day schools in the L. D. S. church. A fireside chat was held last Sunday night following the regular regu-lar services at the L. D. S. church. The group met in the relief society hall before a lively fire burning brightly in the grate. May . Carter, president of the Y. L. M. I. A.,, was in charge. Donetta Hardy reviewed a two-act two-act play, after which light refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mrs. Carter informed those present that the fireside chats will be conducted by the mutual regularly the first Sunday Sun-day of each month and that interesting in-teresting . and constructive programs pro-grams are heing planned to make them a success. AH are invited to participate. ' A dancing party was held Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in the Milfora Ward recreation hall, honoring retiring re-tiring Bishopric Carlyle Gron-. Gron-. mish, Bishop, Rudolph Nielsen, first counselor, Carl Goodwin, second sec-ond counselor, and Clinton Bond, ward clerk. In further appreciation of' the splendid services rendered the ward by these fine men, the ward presented each of them with an appropriate ap-propriate gift. Delicious refreshments were served and the evening was enjoyed en-joyed by all present. A call has come from the general authorities of the L. D. S. church to gather clothing to be sent to Europe to help relieve the suffering suffer-ing European Saints. Only clothing in very good condition con-dition is to be given at this first call for clothing, and the responsibility responsi-bility for mending and cleaning rests with the individual who donates do-nates the clothing. Shoes should be securely tied together to-gether in pairs. Socks or 2- or 3-piece 3-piece suits must be firmly sewed together before delivering them to the ward. The Relief Society officers and their assistants will sort and handle all clothing, make a proper record of contributions and prepare the clothing to be forwarded to the general office in Salt Lake City. All clothing must be delivered to the Relief Society rooms in the L. D. S. church on the evening of Monday, December 10, from 5 to 9 o'clock, or on the morning of Tuesday, December 11. from 9 o'clock until noon. |
