Dates are March 24,25 '. and 26. 1 Council considers Zoning change PAROWAN - Art Walunas, chairman of the Iron County Fair Board, requested that the city council meet with the Iron County Commissioners at their next meeting to discuss improvements im-provements at the Iron County Fair Grounds. The Council agreed to do so. Cyril Pendleton, chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Com-mission, met . with the Council to request that the council hold a hearing to rezone residential property to commercial property at two different locations. The first location includes property owned by Howard Ward (south of the swimming pool), Gilbert Mitchell and Kent Pendleton (across the street and further south), and a large area further south and west of U143. The second location includes several different areas on Holyoak Lane as well as the vicinity of the power plant and old Rambouillet Barn. Notice has been published and a meeting is set for March 25. Two different hearings will be held: at 7:00 p.m. for the first property described and at 8:00 p.m. for the latter. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend. at-tend. D & O Sanitation was represented at the council meeting and presented a written proposal to purchase city garbage gar-bage service. A proposal for the service was also offered by Vance Shakespeare. The council did not make a decision at that time. Mrs. Wanda Benson, City Treasurer, appeared at the meeting to submit her resignation. She is now employed by the Driver's License Examiner. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Pendleton and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mitchell Mit-chell presented a map, prepared by Bulloch Brothers Engineering Firm, in which they proposed trading the city some property. There is concern about retaining a right-of-way to U143 for the city if Second South is ever made into a state road. The proposal was tentatively approved by the council and was submitted to be appraised. Mr. Jim Pinkham, Lion's Club President, met with the council to notify them that the Lions are still proceeding with application for funding to improve the swimming pool and park area. They are proposing to re-do the inside of the pool area with new surface and to possibly cover the pool itself. The council discussed water rights between the Parowan Reservoir Corporation and the City and agreed to several meetings between both parties to settle the problems that now exist. ILCllfsiE? POUNDS!
