Show Antique Quiltand Coverlet Show Do you have a quilt more than 15 years old? If so, perhaps you would like to enter it in the Antique Quilt and Coverlet Show which will be held at Utah State University July 29 -Aug. 5. To do so, you must first contact the chairman in your area and enter the quilt in a local show-best show-best entries will be selected (o come to USU during the annual Festival of the American West. Chairman for Beaver, Garfield, Gar-field, Iron, Kane and Washington Counties is Marva Esplin, Federal Building, Cedar City, phone 586-8132. Antique quilts and coverlets of any size may be entered. They may be hand quilted, woven, crocheted or knitted. Theta Johnson, USU clothing specialist, said it is requested that each entry be documented with as much information as possible about the quilt and its maker. The documentation may include photos, newsclippings or other means. All entries must k owned by . Utah residents. The quilt show will be part of the home arts of the Past exhibits during the festival. All entries traveling to Logan for the show will be featured in a book on antique quilts of Utah to be published this fall, according to Miss Johnson. |
