Show Municipal Election Tuesday, Nov. 2 . City Residents To Vote For Mayor, Council; Two Tickets On Ballot Polls To Be Open Tuesday, November 2, From 7:00 A. M. To 7:00 P. M.; Eight Voting Districts Listed In City Springville citizens, those residing within the city limits, will be expected to go to the polls Tuesday, and vote for the city mayor and other governing officials for the ensuing two years. Regardless of how one votes, party officials are urging that everyone who possibly can, go to the polls that day. The polls will be open from 7 a. m., until 7 p. m., and those registered reg-istered will be eligible to vote. Voting will be held at the homes of the registration agents with exception ex-ception of the Third district, where citizens will vote at the Third ward Relief Society hall. Mrs. Owen Beardall, 508 South, Fourth East street, is registration agent for the First district; Mrs. Emily Miner, 121 West, Fourth South, district 2; Mrs. Maude Curtis, Cur-tis, district 3; Mrs. Millie Sutherland, Suther-land, 8G East, Second North street, district 4; Mrs. Frankie Averett, 754 East Center street, district 5; Mrs. Barbara Francis, between First and Second South, Third East, district 6; Mrs. Helen Thorpe, 377 East, Third South, district 7; Mrs. Abe Ullock, 360 East 8th South, district 8. One set of judges will be at each place of voting. Arrangements have been made for townspeople to call the Herald office, phone 33, for election returns after the closing of the polls Tuesday evening. Two tickets are in the field for the election, one sponsored by the Independents, and including the incumbent in-cumbent officers, and a new ticket sponsored by the Citizens' party, with a list of new candidates. , W. W. Clyde heads the Citizens' ticket for mayor, with Maurice Anderson for four-year councilman; council-man; Victor Frandsen, Selvoy J. Boyer, V. C. Mendenhall, two-year councilmen; Glenn Hansen, city recorder, re-corder, and Arleen Mendenhall, treasurer. On the Independent tiicket, Emll Ostlund is running for the office of city mayor; Ed Johnson, four-year four-year councilman; J. W. Grant, A. G. Peterson and Lee G. Sumsion, councilmen. The ticket is endorsing endors-ing Glenn Hansen for city recorder, record-er, and Mrs. Barbara Francis for city treasurer. Party leaders for both tickets have emphasized the prominence of their various candidates and their qualifications for the positions posi-tions to which they are nominated. All have had considerable experience experi-ence in public affairs and have pledged their time and efforts to the betterment of the city if elected. elect-ed. It will be up to the citizens of Springville to place in office the candidate of their choice. |
