Show Russell Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Thorpe, has returned to his home in Long Beach, Calif., following a two-weeks' visit with his parents and other relatives and friends. He came especially for the deer hunt. Friends here and former acquaintances ac-quaintances will be interested to note that Mrs. Marian Ella Wheel-ock Wheel-ock Freston of Mt. Pleasant, a native na-tive of Springville, daughter of Cyrus H. and Marian Dallin Whee-lock, Whee-lock, celebrated her eightieth birthday last Tuesday at her home in Mt. Pleasant, where she has resided since 1863. Mrs, Bernard Robertson and son Lee have just returned from an enjoyable en-joyable two-weeks' visit with her parents and other relatives and friends in Kansas and Missouri. She went especially to see a broth- uled for overseas duty soon. Mrs. Rex Larsen (Leola Felix) and baby of Salt Lake City visited here Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Felix, and other relatives. Mrs. Charles Franks has returned re-turned to her home following a visit of several weeks with relatives rela-tives and friends at Choteau, Mont. Mrs. Fern O. Smith came from San Francisco, Calif., the past week and will visit indefinitely with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lavell Ostler. Mrs. Finley Roylance has returned re-turned home following a two-weeks' two-weeks' visit with her husband who is stationed with the Armed Forces at Fort Riley, Kansas. Mrs. George Weight and daughter daugh-ter Ella have returned from a week's visit with ' Mrs. Weight's sister, Mrs. Will Rothwell, at Leslie, Les-lie, Ida., and with a niece, Mrs. Von Merrill and husband at Arco, Idaho. Maurice Reynolds of Santa Monica, Mon-ica, Calif., formerly of this city, was a visitor here the past week. Mrs. D. B. Welch has returned to her home from St. Mark's hos- pital where she recently underwent a major operation, and is reported as convalescing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hunsicker, who have been living in Mitchell, South Dakota, where Mr. Hun-saker Hun-saker was stationed, have now returned re-turned to Utah. Mrs. Hunsicker, the former Helen Huntington, is in Springville and Mr. Hunsicker is now stationed at Kearns, Utah, where he is attending Teletype Operators school. Mr. and Mrs. D. Fred Crandall and son Elwood and daughter Coleen of Salt Lake City, visited Sunday with Mr. Crandall's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Emily Crandall, in Springville. Spring-ville. . Milan Metcalf of Burbank, Cal., accompanied by two friends from California, has returned to the coast after spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Metcalf. They came especially espec-ially for the deer hunt. Mrs. Mildred Jarvis and daughter daugh-ter Susanna of Mesa, Ariz., are spending a few days with her father, John S. Boyer, and family. She came especially for the funeral fun-eral services of her mother. Mrs. Melba B. Peay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Banner, and Norma Fullmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fullmer, left the past week for Boston, Mass., to visit Gerald Peay and Jess Moore, both of whom are stationed with the Army near Boston. Mr. and Mrs. F. X. McCarthy (JuNe Boyer) and son of San Francisco, Calif., left Monday to return to their home following a visit here. They also spent some time with relatives at Butte, Mont. Mrs. Nile Cowan and son Richard Rich-ard have been visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Maland. |
