M. Burden, Special Aviation Assistant to the Secretary Secre-tary of Commerce, qualifies as a prophet of the first magnitude, predicting that 500,000 airplanes will be flying the nation's skyways by 1950. He estimates that the number will include 441,000 private planes, 50,000 military craft and 9,000 transport planes. If this prophecy is accurate, there is little danger of unemployment unemploy-ment in the aircraft industry after af-ter the war. Private planes will have to be manufactured at a rate of 80,000 a year to have 441,000 |
