Inauguration of a broad campaign for encouraging electrical development to offset the impending fuel oil shortage waB advocated advo-cated by speakers at the annual con-, con-, vention of the Electrical association. Among the speakers -were S. .M. Kennedy, Ken-nedy, of Los Angeles vice president of the Southern California Edison company, com-pany, E. 0. Edgerton, president of the California state railroad commission, and John A. Brltton, chairman of the t public policy committee of the associa- tlon. - Edgerton, speaking on "The Ttewar' for Efficiency," said: "The interest of the public must be mado parallel with that of the utility. What is good for the public Is good for the companies. It Is to the interest of the public that utilities be kept, sound financially and I can forsee the expenditure of $500,000,000 on power development in California within ten ' years."
