Show I I A Subterranean I Tragedy i Lo moS Sept 24A sensation has been produced the I by announcement of the dis covery of a mysterious tragedy in a com 4 partment The discovery was made last 1 evening but was not made public until to b ao I day When the 6 oclock train from the city on the Underground Railway arrived at Queensford Station last evening a newsboy noticed blood dripping from the compartment compart-ment of a firstclass carriage He raised an alarm and a gentleman was found lying on I the floor of the compartment He was unconscious un-conscious and blood was flowing freely from 1 his head It was found that on his forehead was a deep wound four inches in length I i This evidently had been made with an instrument in-strument sharp and heavy The scalp was 1 I not only cut clear through but the skull was crushed in and the brains were protruding pro-truding On his person were found a gold I watch and chain and some finger rings none of which had been disturbed and very I little money The man was at once conveyed con-veyed to the hospital He is still unconscious II uncon-scious It has been learned that his name is Moritz A Fisher and that he is the head I of the house oi M A Fisher Co foreign I agents of No 33 Cater Lane The police as yet have been unable to gain a clue as to r the cause of the murderous attack or as to the assaillants |
