Show Focns: W. Bountiful Council candidates If '"V t ' .Jlriin'i'iii mifacinwwJ West Bountiful in 1984. Brock is active in city government govern-ment and serves on the West Bountiful Boun-tiful city board of adjustments. The main goal Mr. Ary would like to accomplish is to ask the citizens of West Bountiful how he should vote on the issues that affect them. To do this he will dedicate dedi-cate his evenings to go to the homes of citizens wishing to express ex-press their opinions. On the issue of West Bountiful city creating its own utility distribution distri-bution system, Mr. Ary is in favor of the city working toward that end. If in the future it is determined to be feasible to have our own power system without a burden to the citizeni, West Bountiful city should develop the system. At this time, the acquisition of Spring Meadows Golf Course is still pending. If it can be acquired in the future without a hardship on the citizens of West Bountiful it would be a great asset. If you wish to talk with Brock, you can contact him in the evenings even-ings at 295-4145. Mr. Henderson graduated from Weber State College with an A.A.S, with special emphasis in sales and retailing; and also a B.S., with special emphasis in public relations. re-lations. Mr. Henderson says, "I am concerned." con-cerned." about giving every resident resi-dent fair representation and preserving pre-serving our city as a clean, safe pace to live. To have good public relations with neighboring communities, com-munities, county and state; to have services improved without increasing in-creasing cost; and to help direct a healthy balance of the tax base, with some business growth to relieve re-lieve the tax burden of every resident resi-dent are some of his goals., He is in favor of having lower power bills for every household in the community. If to achieve this means to withdraw from Utah Power and Light Co., and for the city to create its own utility distribution distri-bution system, then he says "Let's do so." Mr. Henderson further muses, "I am not totally sure if the city should buy Spring Meadows Golf Course. However, it could be a good long-term investment. Of course the key to the golf course success would depend on the management man-agement of it." COLINA LEE GADD Colina Lee Gadd: has lived in West Bountiful for almost nine years and has been married for 20. She has five children, Norah, Crystal, Crys-tal, Tami, Mary and Alva. She has worked as a Sales Clerk at Mervyn's in the Layton Hills Mall for the last five years and is pursuing an accounting degree at Weber State College. Ms. Gadd expresses her feelings that the issue of West Bountiful getting its own power needs to be looked at and given serious consideration. con-sideration. "The citizens need a voice in this decision," she says, "and it should not be done solely by the council." She feels West Bountiful needs to consider annexation anne-xation of some of the property around it before other cities do it andWest Bountiful becomes surrounded sur-rounded and cannot grow. She further states, "West Bountiful needs to look and actively active-ly search for some new business, to expand its tax base, and that would go with the lifestyle of the community com-munity we have. I have to see facts and figures on the Spring Meadows Golf Course to see if it would be for the benefit of the citizen or if it would become a burden. If the city could turn a profit it would be worth looking into. Also, the city needs to see if there is state or federal fed-eral money to help pay for it." Ms. Gadd further states, "I feel I am qualified to run for city council because I have been to most of the council meetings over the last three years. I know first hand, the problems prob-lems and issues that have come be-. be-. fore the city council." JPLA ... WENDELL WILD L- Wendell Wild is a candidate for -the West Bountiful City Council, s .
