Show Nurturing Parent series begins Monday at DAVC KAYSVILLE A seminar designed with single parents and displaced homemakers in mind starts Monday at the Davis Area Vocational Center. "The Nurturing Parent Program" will be offered as an eight-week eight-week seminar Tuesdays from 2:45-4:15 p.m. on the Kaysville campus of the DAVC. Karen Letts, director of the Davis Family Support Center, will be class instructor. The seminar is free to displaced homemakers and single parents pa-rents with a $25 fee asked for others attending. Pre-registration is necessary by calling 546-4134. Topics covered will range from family blending, behavior management for both parent and child to single and co-parenting. co-parenting. "Classes will be kept open and flexible to allow us to address specific student needs," Ms. Letts says. She has taught similar seminars for many years and raised two boys to adulthood as a single parent. Targeted especially for parents with children ages 4-12, each session will focus on specific learning goals and objectives with procedures outlined for carrying out various activities. The Nurturing Program to be used in the classes has been utilized throughout the country and featured on such TV programs prog-rams as "Good Morning America." |
