Show DOING THE TOWN By Elaine A. Cannon i Stopover for Mrs. Arthur Percival. She is here visiting with relatives and- friends between "homes." The Percivals are moving mov-ing to Denver to live after having been keeping house in California. Cali-fornia. Mrs. Percival is the former Barbara Barrett. She had a N get-together with three college chums the other night ... it was bridge for the foursome that included Mrs. William Aspden Mrs. Glen Lewis and Mrs. William Smith. Hamer and Jody Billings Culp have their second child to brag about. The baby girl was born Monday to the popular Jody and all is well. The Culps have a darling new home at 1733 Fifteenth East Street. Mrs. George F. Pearson, 3526 27th East Street, has just returned re-turned from a gay jaunt to San Francisco. Purpose of the trip was to visit with her daughter, Ruth, who is working in the Bay City. The mother and daughter team had a wonderful time doing the smart shops, lunching in exciting places and taking in con- i certs, plays, etc. Wee ruler of the Lamar Scott family is a tiny little miss who took matters into her own hands as of Sunday. She will be named Verla and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. A, V. Thalman of Sigurd Utah, and Joseph E. Scott of 704 33rd South Street. The Scotts are living liv-ing in Stadium Village on the U campus. Friends of Helen and Bob Flandro are giving hearty congratulations con-gratulations to them these days on account of there is a new baby in their household. He was born at the Holy Cross hospital Sunday afternoon. The newcomer new-comer has a brother named Bobby who is getting things ready for his new brother. Bobby Bob-by is 2'2 and tells us that his grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Reese, Glendale, Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Flandro, 1332 Bryan Avenue Dr. Joe Tanner was a doctor in need when his brother-in-law Lowell "Budgie" Christen-sen Christen-sen broke his leg while skiing with him Sunday, Lowell is the son of Mrs. A. Eugene Christensen, 1407 Harvard Avenue. Av-enue. We hope he soon is much, much better. Dancing is good tonic for young couples rearing their families. . . . just ask some of the Wintersette club. Thursday night we saw Lowell and Betty Durham trading dances with the Walt Woofendens. Betty was lovely as ever in creamy beige crepe. Dean and Mary Larson talked with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Teerlink. J. Allen Jensen brought his wife to the party late. He is announcing the new Utah Symphony show each Thursday night. Gene McDon-ough McDon-ough and his wife Donna (whose kelly green coat with beaver lined hood is a chic model) . "in-termisisoned" "in-termisisoned" with John and Peggy Parsons Duncan and "Lefty" Bennett and his wife Elaine. Dr. and Mrs. Bob Sorbone waved hello. Charles and Sally Perchon enjoyed punch served with scoops of frosty sherbet. Happy birthday for Mrs. Ella Pitt who celebrated her natal day on Sunday. She was honored honor-ed guest at a birthday luncheon given by her only daughter, Mrs. L. Roland Bain at the Bain home, 3504 S. 27th East Street. It was strictly a family affair with grandchildren Jerry, Dennis, Den-nis, Brent and Connie giving extra-special attention to Mrs. Pitt. A special reminder for those of you who like entertainment for a small price and the consolation conso-lation of knowing the proceeds go for a worthy cause. . . . Saturday Sat-urday at 1:30 p.m. in the Union Building ballroom Mortar Board presents its annual fashion show and bridge tea. Fashions will be presented by Mortar Board members, ZCMI and Lois Head. Bob and Margaret Cornwall Richards entertained at their artistically decorated home Sunday evening. Sherm and Edna Fae Richards, Oscar and Janet Booth. Peggy and Les Hewlett were on the guest list. Speaking of the Cornwalls . . . Lyle (who is Mrs. Vaughn Bennion) will take her two children chil-dren to California before long to join Vaughn who has been transfered to Los Angeles. He's searching out a place for his family to live and then Lyle will bid Salt Lake adieu with the invitation for all her friends to be sure and visit her when they go to the coast. |
