Show Sugar House Stake Reports Travelers Return, Take Off; Partie's, Dances, Plays Make Busy Week for Local Folks who would like to attend. They have a fine orchestra engaged. The elders are working on a missionary fund. EMERSON WARD Wednesday night is party night for the choir, this group has been very faithful in the performance of their job and a job it is, getting everyone out to rehearsals" but the results are worth the effort so they are going to take time out for fun. And the classes in mutual are having get togethers, too. The Senior Scouts and the Junior Girls are having a big "blowout" and the Gleaners are going to make Jan. 30 their big night. Watch out for further announcements an-nouncements of a leap year dance of all things coming soon. Beware all you wary males. This is the women's big chance and they are really making plans for it. SUGAR HOUSE Members of the Sugar House Stake presidency were very happy over the wonderful success suc-cess of their officers' party, held last Thursday night. Four hundred and twenty-five stake workers and their partners were present at the program and the dance. Two new members have Continued on Page 4 BRYAN WARD Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Fletcher and daughter are motoring up to Pocatello, Ida. this week end to bring home Mrs. Hulda Fletcher who has been visiting with her son, Floyd Fletcher, and his family. The same bunch at a new place this time Evelyn and Jack Naisbitt were doing the entertaining en-tertaining for Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pass, Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Kleinberg, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Os-wald Wilde and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Boulter. Mrs. Clarence P. Jones spent several days in Las Vegas. Nev., with her husband who is spending spend-ing several weeks there on government gov-ernment business. Mr. Jones is chief clerk of the War Assets Administration. George Poulsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Poulsen and Dick Pollei, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Har-ry K. Pollei were raised from piests to elders Sunday at stake conference. Mrs. Stephen L. Huffaker and children, Jay and Stephen, just returned from Idaho Falls where they attended the joint funeral services of Mr. and Mrs. James Soelberg who were killed kill-ed in an automobile accident. Mrs. Huffaker said it was one of the largest funerals ever held in the Tabernacle in the "Falls" as it was attended by over 1100 people. It has been party time at the home of the Keith Caspers. The bishop and is sister, Arvel Stone, had a joint birthday party on Jan. 10. Nineteen enjoyed the fun all members of the family. Then this Saturday Irene enterr tained 13 young guests in honor of her birthday. Mrs. Keith C. Casper has as her house guest her mother, Mrs. Mary Crouch. HAWTHORNE AVARD Louise McAllister tells of a wonderful dance being held in the ward each month under the direction of the elders' quorum. The first one was held last month, this one Saturday and the next one in Feb. 21. They want a big crowd out. This is not just for the members of Hawthorne but all their friends S. H. Stoke . Son Marvin drove them down, but will return shortly. Lorraine Plowgian, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Aran Plowgian, 1169 Wilmington will represent our Mutual as queen at the Gold and Green Ball. Fern Cutler is 'one of the newest members of the Primary Pri-mary organization. The Cutlers recently moved in to the ward and reside at 1849 McClelland. Jane Goss too is back in Primary. Pri-mary. She is replacing Jessie Teeples. Union meeting for all Primary Pri-mary workers will be held in the stake house Saturday at 2 p.m. Hadn't heard that Lester Brough was stake secretary of the Seventies until he was sustained sus-tained in conference. Congratulations Congratu-lations Les. Theodore P. Jorgensen, 1953 South Thirteen East St., well-known well-known florist has been ill. Ho suffered from a severe heart attack. Hope to see him around again soon. RICHARDS WARD Rehearsals are under way for a play to be presented by the MIA in "February. Anne Sum-merhays Sum-merhays is directing the prize winning Centennial play "And It Shall Keep Thee" by Nathan and Ruth Hale. We'il be hear-f hear-f ing more about this later. At quarterly conference last Sunday the names of five of our young men were passed on to be ordained elders. They are: Donald B. Flora, Joseph William Wil-liam rooks, Stephen Alvin Featherstone, Dale C. Wilkinson and Keith L. Bennion. Richard P. Jones has been selected se-lected to conduct L. D. S. services serv-ices each Sunday morning at the state prison. .
