And whether we open the door and meet the challenge, or leave it closed, unanswered, will largely determine our future course Honesty has ever been a great virtue. Today it is even greater. Throughout the world men are skeptical of one another. an-other. It is second nature to suspect a stranger's motives. While this is a world-wide, war-wrought disease, it is just as prevalent here at the grass roots. And that is the purpose of these words. It is a rare treat, indeed, to get a service done these days and come away completely satisfied that, the job has been done f well and that the price is fair. Any traveller knows this is true. Travelling people even plan their budgets to cover a certain amount of "extra costs," over and above what were once their "emergency funds." But anyone who has been in need . of services ranging from repair jobs of any sort to buying socks knows that the extras are not reserved for the strangers only. When a person finds a businessman or tradesman he can trust, he feels almost blessed. And he is proud and happy to tell his friends about his good fortune. Which can only-mean only-mean one thing to a thinking businessman . . the greatest advertising today is the reputation for fair dealing. This is the challenge of Sugar House ... or any community. commu-nity. If this community can unitedly establish a reputation for honest, fair business practices . . . from the greatest to-the to-the least ... the future is assured. Treat every customer as a friend or neighbor and immeasurable good will result. This is good business and good citizenship. BUT ONE BAD EGG CAN SPOIL THE BATCH. Let's . j watch the basket. V |
