Show ELVONA SORENSON BECK Beck to celebrate 80th on Friday Mrs. Elvona Sorenson Beck of Bountiful will celebrate her 80th birthday Feb. 19. Her children will host an open house in her honor Saturday, Feb. 20 from 2-5 p.m. Relatives and friends of Mrs. Beck are invited to attend the open house which will be held at the home of her son, Stephen Beck, 1015 E. Woodmoor Drive, Bountiful. Bounti-ful. No gifts please. Mrs. Beck is a resident of Mill-stream Mill-stream Garden Apartments in Bountiful. She and her late husband, hus-band, Avery T. Beck, moved to Bountiful in 1969 from Gunnison Valley where he was a prominent farmer and livestockman. Elvona Marie Sorenson was born Feb. 19, 1908 in Mayfield,' Sanpete County. Her parents were Andrew Sorenson and Annie Beck Sorenson. Her sisters are Florence Bullock, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and Vivian Scheller of St. George. Her brother, Elmo Sorenson and half-brothers, Leonard, Wesley and Ferra are deceased. Mrs. Beck attended schools in Axtell and Centerfield, and graduated gradu-ated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1926. She briefly attended the University of Utah and Snow College. Throughout her life, Mrs. Beck has served in ward and stake positions posi-tions in the LDS Church. She particularly parti-cularly enjoyed her callings in the Relief Society which included president in the Centerfield LDS Ward, and counselor in the Bountiful Bounti-ful 18th Ward. Elvona and Avery Beck have six children: Beverly (Foerster) deceased; de-ceased; Paul, Bountiful; Sherman, Sandy, Oreg.; Mrs. Lennie (Judy) Johnson, Holliday; Stephen, ; Bountiful;land James, Woods ; Cross. -They have 25 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, and 15 great-grandchildren. |
