Show BPW Elects MeivW fleers; CSiooses ftleniher Of Year ' Wanda Riggle was elected president of the Roosevelt Business Bus-iness and Professional Women's Club at the regular April meeting meet-ing held Monday night at the Frontier Grill. Veda Jensen is the new vice-president; Virgie Murphy, secretary; Rhoda Rudy, treasurer. The twenty members and guests present were welcomed by the president, Lenore Hutch-ings, Hutch-ings, who conducted a brief business meeting prior to the program, which was in charge of Adelyn Logan, International Relations chairman, and her committee, Veda Jensen and Sadie Blank. Two vocal solos were sung by Allan Gines, accompanied by Clyde Johnson. Featured speaker of the evening eve-ning was Supt. H. W. Gilmore, of Fort Duchesne, a student of economic and political issues, who gave a very interesting discussion on World Trade. ' Mrs. Logan received the distinct dis-tinct honor of being named by the club as the Club Member of the Year, and is also a nominee for state recording secretary of the state BPW. Also included in the business session was the election of delegates del-egates to attend the state BPW convention, to be held in Provo on June 5th and 6th. Alternates Alter-nates are Virgie Murphy and Myrtle Lambert. Vacancy committee com-mittee for the convention will be Afton Harrison and Mattie Edwards. Tentative plans for the BPW Senior Tea were announced by Mrs. Harrison, chairman, who reported that arrangements are well underway for the social event of the season which will he held at the Harrison residence resi-dence on Monday, May 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Table decorations conformed to an Easter motif, with a colorful col-orful Easter egg tree as the main centerpiece. Further decorations decor-ations included an Easter egg train and yellow tapers, with floral designed placecards at each cover laid. |
