Show ROOSEVELT JUNIOR HIGH We congratulate the winners of the Americanism contest, sponsored by the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary, District 9. They were: Sally Burgess, first place; Maura Hurley, second place; Lila Horrocks, third place; and Kenneth Anderton, honorable mention. Mrs. Riggle's ninth grade English En-glish classes participated in the junior high school division. Bud Anderton The graduation dance held on May 16, at Roosevelt Jr. High, proved to be the biggest and most successful dance given this year. The dance was a combination yearbook and graduation dance, with the yearbooks being given out towards the end of the evening. eve-ning. The hall was decorated in blues and greens, with fish and mermaids to fit the theme, "Davey Jones' Locker." Mr Crittenden and Mrs. .Riggle and the 9th grade decorating committee com-mittee were responsible for the lovely decorations. Many students and former students attended and all enjoyed en-joyed a gay evening of dancing. Rhea Neilson won the yearbook. year-book. Maurine Allred Graduation plans have all ninth graders at Roosevelt Jr. High School hoping to get their work in. Graduation will be held Friday, May 23, at 12:45 p. ro., followed by the receiving of report cards 'and a matinee dance. Neil Duncan Roosevelt Jr. Hig-h School is proud of the yearbooks, which made their appearance last Friday. Fri-day. This yearbook was the only junior high school yearbook published by the company. The staff of the yearbook was composed of Mrs. Wanda Riggle, Rig-gle, adviser; Carol Cook, associate associ-ate editor; Neil Duncan, associate associ-ate business manager; Maura I Hurley, editor; and Ray Allen, I business manager. Mrs. Vola Hancock and Ariis Bird also assisted on the staff. The book is very fine and one we will treasure forever. Sandra Powell |
