SCS Hattie Pope leveled 7 acres of land on South My ton Bench. SCS Grant Pickup, Randlett, planted plant-ed Vz mile of 2-row windbreak. Grant used Eastern Red Cedar spaced 6 feet apart in the rows. 9CS Frank Liddell, Myton, is constructing con-structing a border system of irrigation ir-rigation on the field he recently leveled. He is placing dikes ev- ery 30 feet and will flood irrigate irri-gate between dikes. The dikes will be around 30 inches wide and not less than 4 inches high when settled. Frank built an "A" frabe about 18 feet wide at' one end and 30 inches wide at the other to build the border ridges. Frank invites all interested inter-ested farmers to look at the finished fin-ished job. SCS Hyrum Domgaard and Alex Duvall are building1 two miles of ditch to improve the distribution distri-bution of irrigation water to their farms. SCS Ferris Giles, Hanna: Scott Lusty, Arcadia; Preston Matthews, Mat-thews, Utahn, have constructed 3000, 12000 and 800 linear feet of new gradient irrigation-ditches. SCS Leo Farnsworth, Talmage, has cleared 10 acres of land, seeded 20 acres of irrigated pasture, and constructed 1300 linear feet of gradient ditch. SCS Roy and Alma Warren hav? cleared 60 acres of land for irrigation ir-rigation SCS Clarence and Leland Wright have completed the drainage of 7 acres of good land by the construction of .2 mile of open drainage ditch. SCS . The Lake Fork Western Irrigation Irri-gation Company has cleaned out and enlarged about 8100 linear feet of canal from the main heading to the first divider. SCS Complete conservation plans were written for Ray Houston, Tridell, and Charles Wise, of Jensen. SCS Computations for figuring cuts and fills for land leveling have been completed on 9 acres belonging to H. C. Havens, of Maeser; 4 acres for Julian Mas-sey, Mas-sey, and 19 acres for Merlin Simmons, of Leota. These farmers farm-ers plan to start leveling operations oper-ations this week. SCS All of the above projects have been completed with the technical tech-nical assistance of the Soil Conservation Service, cooperating cooperat-ing with the Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District. 1 |
