Show Plans are progressing for the Boy Scout Summer Camp at Maple Dell. Grant Mace, field executive, strongly urges all Scout units to register prior to June 1 so they will be assured of getting in on the activities which will -be held from July 7 to 12. The Boy Scout Camporee, previously scheduled for May 23 and 24, has been postponed until Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, at Little Park in Uinta Uin-ta Canyon. The Boy Scout. and Explorer leaders basic training course was held Wednesday evening at 8 p. m. at the Roosevelt Stake House. David Watkins is in charge of the Scout group and Bob Andrews, the Explorers. The training course, which will be held over a period of six or seven weeks, will be in charge of the two leaders. During Dur-ing the month of June, the training courses will be held on Friday evenings instead of on Wednesdays. The Get - Out - The - Vote cam-1 paign, a national good turn per-1 formed by the Boy Scouts of America working in cooperation with the Freedom Foundation, will get underway in the near future. The Freedoms Foundation is making available materials and the Boy Scouts are distributing the campaign materials, which will consist of two phases first, distribution of posters prior pri-or to registration dates to remind re-mind people to get registered to vote in the forthcoming presidential presi-dential elections; and, second, on the day of the primary election, elec-tion, November 1, 1952, the Boy Scouts will distribute little hangers on every door in every community reminding the residents resi-dents to go to the polls and vote. |
