Show XeetcH-zSenttett Mrs. Fern Housion Baseball Season Gets Underway Spring is here at last, even the cold weather could not change that, and so we were not surprised to see the baseball players working out in practice. The first game was to have been played at Bennett, but Roosevelt City had its water pipe piled on the church lot, so the first contest game was played between Fort Duchesne and Bennett, at Fort Duchesne. The game ended 13-8 in favor of Fort Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller, of Springville, are .visiting at 'the home of Winfred Long. Mr. and Mrs. Vern AUred have moved into the house formerly form-erly occupied by their son. Dee. At present Mrs. Allred is visiting visit-ing her. daughter, Mrs. Lola Sessions at Ogden. Mrs. , Keith Bowen recently visited in Roosevelt with her sister, Mrs. Everett Harrison. The home economics class at Alterra, under the direction of Ida Phillips, gave a tea party last week honoring the mothers Mrs. Frances Bowen and Mrs Keith Bowen also attended. Judy Moosman, of Whiterocks, visited over the weekend witn Annie Turner, who is making her home with ; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Coltharp, Mr. and Mrs. 'Ned Coltharp, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Coltharp and Mr and Mrs Bill Coltharp attended the Knife and Fork Club at Vernal Ver-nal Saturday night. Her many friends and neighbors neigh-bors surprised Mrs. Delma Lonj, with a house warming party, Thursday. Games were played and a dessert lunch was served. Mrs. Jasper Pike has gone to Salt Lake City with her daughter, daugh-ter, Uintah, who had been visiting vis-iting here. She will remain for a short visit. PRIMARY OFFICERS VISIT The Primary stake officers visited here Sunday. They were Phillis Jensen, Kate Peterson, Merle Johnson and Lela La-brum. La-brum. Theme of the meeting was "Get a good start early by starting your children in Primary Pri-mary where they get character building stories, music and play under proper supervision." " High waters at the Leota Bottoms Bot-toms have flooded the Louie Hall home. He has moved into a house he owns at Leeton. Work on the George Houston well is progressing. The rig is almost up and drilling about ready to commence. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ferron, if Minnesota, who are -visiting Dick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. ?red Ferron, of Rooseveli., called on Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Harmston Sunday. |
