Show Ooosovei! Second Ward find Klyton Centime To Pase Giiy SofftfeaSi Myton and Roosevelt Second I Wards still share the lead in the I City-Church softball league as of games through Tuesday night. In games scheduled from Wednesday, Wed-nesday, June 29 through Tuesday, July 5, only two tilts, were actually actual-ly played with three other tilts being forfeited. It was a short week with no games slated for Monday night, July 4, Myton and Roosevelt Second both won games by virtue of forfeits, for-feits, Fourth Ward also won by the same way, and Fort Duchesne beat Neola 39-6 and Montwel lost to Roosevelt Ward 30-19 in the only games completed. Fort Duchesne Du-chesne also shared the lead with Myton and Roosevelt Second in the GBL column, but lagged by a few percentage points. Roosevelt Ward slammed out 24 hits to win their first contest of the season over Montwel. The losers collected 10 safeties. Stan Howard had four home runs for the winners, and Burr Eldredge, Merlin Fenn and Roland Buchanan Buchan-an each collected three hits apiece. John Gale, Don Truman, Ken Anderton, Keith Winterton and Lynn Poulsen each made two hits. Dan Pace, Monty Hamblin, Dick Mower and Jim Parry each had two hits apiece for Montwel. Parry Par-ry rapped a four bagger. Keith Winterton received the victory for Roosevelt Ward. In another "football contest" Ft. Duchesne walked over Neola 39-6. It was the fourth victory for the Reservation nine, Ernie Lopez, who also did the hurling for the Fort, punched out six hits, two of them homers. Jupe Cuch, Henry Cuch, R. Iorg each rapped out four safeties safe-ties A. LaRo.se had three and G. Harris and Arlys Iorg had two apiece. Three of Henry Cuch s blows were round trippers, and Jupe Cuch and Arlys Iorg had a homer apiece. Larry Dye, DeLoy Duncan and Clair Duncan banged two hits each for the losers and Don Duncan Dun-can added a home run.
