Show Forest Service Sets Holiday Rules For Uisitors ' Because of the dryness of forest for-est fuels and due to the anticipated antici-pated large crowds of forest visitors vis-itors expected over the Fourth of ' July weekend, the Ashley National Forest has been closed to the discharge dis-charge of fireworks. The order also makes it unlawful to tiuow burning cigarettes or other burning burn-ing material upon National Forest land. The order, issued June 20, 1955 by Regional Forester Olsen, will become effective July 1. It states, the following acts are prohibited upon National Forest land of Region Reg-ion 4, United States Forest Service, Ser-vice, beginning on the 1st day of July, until further notice: The throwing or placing of a burning cigarette, cigar, match, pipe heel, firecracker, or any ignited ig-nited substance in any place where it may start a fire; and the discharging of any kind of fireworks fire-works on any portion of a National Na-tional Forest closed by order of the Regional Forester to the discharging dis-charging of fireworks." Forest visitors are urged to I exercise extreme caution in the use of fire over the long Fourth of July weekend.
