Show S LZTTEHS April 2, 1954 Mr. Clifton Memmott, Editor Uintah Basin Record Dear Sir: In my two visits to your city it has not been my pleasure to meet you, although I have stopped stop-ped in your office and visited with Mrs. Graham, your office manager. My concern in writing you- and I hope for the privilege of meeting you on my next trip is in regards to the local Red Cross chapter there. My area covers many counties, so that it is not often that I get there. - There has been an apparent lack of interest in the community commun-ity toward keeping a Red Cross chapter going there to the point where the recently appointed ap-pointed fund chairman, Mrs. Virginia Miller (and a good one) reported a total collection of only $43.00 from the City of Duchesne while at the same time Red Cross blood was brought into the county and was instrumental in saving a life. This is only one of the services available if there were complete chapter organization. It is my intention to help the chapter as much as possible in getting a full program of service to the community going'. However, How-ever, in the meantime, the entire en-tire chapter is being threatened through the lack of funds to carry on its next year's operations. opera-tions. I give you this information informa-tion and know that you will do and have done much in the past to preserve the chapter. In the meantime I look forward toward meeting you on my next trip to' your community. Sincerely, Charles DeKlyen, Field Representative 879 30th St. Ogden i |
