Show , Leadership of the three organized or-ganized churches in Roosevelt have announced elaborate plans to observe Easter Sunday with appropriate , programs and services ser-vices that will remind all Christians Chris-tians of the greatest event in the history of mankind The Ressurection of The Savior, Announcements coming from the leaders of the four wards, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Baptist and Catholic churches reveal a fine opportunity to join in religious worship during the day. St. Helen's Catholic church has a program for Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Following are the time schedules sched-ules and other information pertaining per-taining to the various programs as announced: CATHOLIC CHURCH The Rev. I. N. Strancar, pastor pas-tor of St. Helen's church, has a full week for Catholics, which begins with Holy Thursday, and announces that Father Alfred Harding, Vernal pastor, will conduct Holy Hour and hear confessions on that day. Special music will be sung by the choir at all services under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. Stan Schmiett. On Easter morning following the blessing of the Easter food in the church, communicants will join in the Easter breakfast, to be followed by an egg hunt for the children. Schedule of services beginning begin-ning with Good Friday are as follows: Good Friday Good Friday Service, 7:00 a.m., the Mass of the PreSanctified); Holy Hour, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Holy Saturday Confessions 6:00 to 8:00 a.m.; Easter Vigil Service: Blessing of the Fire, Paschal Candle, Baptismal Water, Wat-er, renewal of Baptismal vows, 1 followed by High Mass, 8 p.m. Easter Sunday Low Mass, 7:00 a.m.; High Mass of Ressurection Ressur-ection with the Holy Communion Commun-ion of Parishioners, 8:30 a.m. BAPTIST CHURCH A new minister, Lee M. Roebuck, Roe-buck, has announced the following fol-lowing schedule for activities of the day announced for communicants com-municants of this denomination. Theme of the day will be a passage pas-sage of scripture taken from First Corinthians, 15:20, "Believe "Be-lieve now is Christ risen from the -dead." Their announced schedule is as follows: 10:00 a.m., Sunday School, "Our Living Lord;" 11:00 a.m. message, "Go Quickly and tell He is Risen," Matt. 28:7; 7 p.m., Training Union, "The Risen Ris-en Christ," (Special emphasis for all age groups); 8 p.m., message, mes-sage, "Christ's Love True Motive Mo-tive for Giving." Their time of meeting is 6 p.m. and they convene in the recreation hall. The Third ward is also preparing a special Easter message on the Ressurec-tion, Ressurec-tion, to be delivered by Melvin Petersen, with music appropriately appropri-ately planned to add emphasis to the occasion. Lynn' Dye and Mrs. Alma Wills will also speak. Priesthood meetings for all wards will' be held at the regular reg-ular Sunday time, with class work and normal business problems prob-lems to be the agenda of the day. |
