Show Reservation News - - - About The X UINTAH-OURAY INDIAN RESERVATION Reported by June Cook Members of the mixed-blood planning board celebrated the completion of their work at a picnic party in Rock Creek Canyon, Can-yon, Saturday. Those that enjoyed the outing were: Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Curry, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Iorg, Juanita McClure, Preston Allen and Lula Murdock. Sarah Hack-ford Hack-ford did not attend. R-N R. O. Curry went to Salt Lake last week and had a growth removed re-moved from his eye. This week he is enjoying a week's fishing vacation, R-N At a special Business Committee Commit-tee meeting held on April 27th, Jason Cuch was nominated as chairman and Lorena Iorg nominated nom-inated vice-chairman to preside nvpr the Trihal Business Commit tee, which is. the governing body for the Ute Tribe. R-N Clarence P. Harris, Sr. left Monday Mon-day for Washington, D. C. to take a Tribal patient to the St. Elizabeth Hospital. R-N Milton Denver is acting as temporary tem-porary jail keeper until the position posi-tion is filled. R-N Wilson Johnson returned from Pierre, So. Dakota, Sunday, where he spent a week's vacation. R-N Dick Curry is sporting a new black and white Chevrolet car this week. R-N Superintendent H. W. Gilmore of the Uintah and Ouray Agency made an official trip to Logan last week to confer with F. M. Haver-land, Haver-land, area director, and W. H. Berry of the Indian Service area office in Phoenix, Arizona, with Evan L. Flory and A. C. Cooley of the Indian Service in Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, and with Dr. Fri&ch-knecht, Fri&ch-knecht, President Chase and Dr. Walker of the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural Service reparding a proposed transfer of extension services from the Indian Bureau to the State of Utah, R-N C. J. Carter was in Salt Lake City on business, Monday. R-N New on the jail list this week was Warren Narranjo, Jason Cuch and Harris Murray. R-N It was reported Monday by Wes Lucas, general foreman and Myron My-ron Brough, project foreman, that tractor batteries, tools and gasoline gaso-line had been stolen from Tribal and Government equipment that was parked on the Randlett project proj-ect last Sunday night. R-N Sarah and Verna Hackford motored mo-tored to California for a vacation with friends and relatives. The Norman Holmes family was called to Miami, Oklahoma last Wednesday due to the death of an aunt. R-N Mrs. Dave Beckman and family from Lincoln, Nebraska, is visiting visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Dial. R-N Tawannee Kolb and family, of Altonah, left for Oakland, Calif, to report on July 8th for Vocational Vocation-al Training School, which is sponsored spon-sored by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Af-fairs. R-N L. A. Dial, relocation officer, has been in southern Utah for the past few days contacting vocational vocation-al training applicants. R-N Muse K. Harris went to Moab, Saturday on a business trip.. |
