Show Randlett Viola Jensen New Officers Called In Ward Primary officers and teachers released Sunday evening were: Veda Jorgensen, 2nd counselor; Afton Rogers, Betty Jensen and Norma Marshall as teachers. Sustained Sus-tained were: Laura Bastian, 2nd counselor; Reah and Velma Pickup, Pick-up, teachers, and Dian Taylor and Loye Harris -as choral directors. Leah May Chandler was released re-leased from the YWMIA as 2nd counselor. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Huff were sustained as M Men and Gleaner teachers. Released from the Sunday School were: Supt. Drayden Foster, Fos-ter, Fahy Durfee, Ivan Rogers, and Milton Stoddard as enlistment enlist-ment secretary. Sustained were Superintendent, Fahy Durfee; with Ivan Rogers and Sheldon Lewis, counselors; Loye Harris, enlistment enlist-ment secretary and Afton Rogers as a school teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Jarman and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Glenn were Salt Lake visitors last week. Mrs. Glenn and Mrs. Jarman are sisters. sis-ters. Grant and Carolyn Durfee, of Vernal, are visiting at the Ralph Durfee home. Sheldon Lewis is working this summer on Mosby Mountain, cutting cut-ting mine props. MADE QUILT BLOCKS The Relief Society held their regular work day Tuesday. Work consisted of making quilt blocks. Mrs. Mable Nebeker arrived home Sunday after visiting her son and daughter-in-law and new grandson in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stevens, of Salt Lake City, visited Thursday and Friday at the J. E. Jensen home. Mr. and Mrs. Blake Peay, Jr. and family arrived home Monday. Mr. Peay attended the National Guard encampment. The Avalon ward Leadership meeting was held Friday evening. Bishop Bert Stoddard conducted the meeting. Stake Sunday School visitors attending Sunday School were Superintendents Ariel Michie, Evan Ev-an Percival and Neill Jensen. High Councilman Rulon Anderton was also a visitor. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Glenn and boy returned to their home in San Bernardino, Calif, last Sunday. Sun-day. Mrs. Ethel Young, of Vernal, visited Saturday at the John Young home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Daniels, of Fort Duchesne, were Sunday visitors vis-itors at the John Young home. Mrs. Jennie McMullen accompanied accom-panied her brother, and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jenkins, to Salt Lake City to attend the fu-npral fu-npral of her aunt. ATTEND REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Dee Brough and daughter, Sandra took Mr. Brough's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse S. Brough to Salt Lake City to attend a Brough family reunion. reun-ion. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening were: Reah Pickup, Pick-up, Dian Taylor, Viola Jensen and Ray Barney. Carolyn Stoddard played a piano selection. Golden Bastian presented the individual awards to Ethel Durfee, Loye Harris, Har-ris, Rhea Pickup, Velma Pickup, Dian Taylor, Carolyn Stoddard, Shirley Pickup, Irene Jensen, Janet Jan-et Durfee, Janet Brough and De-anna De-anna Durfee. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Harris are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Friday at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mrs. Hannah Harris is caring for their small son. Mr. and Mrs, LaVern Wall and son, Robert, were Sunday afternoon after-noon visitors at the Henry Wall home. , Mrs. Josephine Taylor was a Sunday visitor at the Ralph Taylor Tay-lor home. . |
